This Sunday we’ll be looking at Mark’s record of Christ’s last meal with His disciples. It’s hard to imagine the thoughts that must have been flooding Jesus’ mind as He shared these precious moments with His friends. And yet, there’s not a hint of self-centeredness. No veiled attempts for pity, consolation, or even some sort of acknowledgment that the twelve comprehended the horror that awaited their Rabbi.

Instead, we find Christ serving, affirming and pledging His love and protection to His dear companions. Amazing!
