Be Thankful!

This time of year we are remembering to be thankful. One very practical way to do this is to be generous with what we have been given. We invite you to give a donation toward filling the Dinner Boxes to help our neighbors celebrate. We have a very generous offer from Ventura’s Grocery Outlet to purchase turkeys at a very low price! Contact Eleanor Renshaw: eren247@yahoo.com, JoAnn Freeman: joannswell@gmail.com, or Lisa Shaw: avlrs@sbcglobal.net for more info!

Community Christmas Shoppe provides an opportunity for families in need to select Christmas gifts for their children at no cost.

How can you participate in blessing the community:

Donate: we need NEW, unwrapped toys and gifts by December 12th! Drop-off boxes are located in church lobbies, local businesses, and the ACTION office.

Volunteer: help with personal shopping, hospitality, gift wrapping, and more! Sign up at ACTIONvc.org/Community-Christmas-Shoppe

TAMALES FOR CHRISTMAS!

Order yummy pork, chicken, or chili cheese tamales and support the Spring Mission Trip to Costa Rica! $30/dozen. JoAnn Freeman is taking orders by email at joannswell@gmail.com or will be on the patio after service 11/22/19.

Hi Friends,

This Sunday is our annual Freedom Sunday in which we raise awareness for global justice and advocacy relating to human trafficking and unjust labor practices.  This year we have chosen to highlight local needs and opportunities that we are already partnering with as a church.  These include Ventura County Foster Family Services (Faith In Motion) as well as Operation Grace.

We will have representatives from both organizations/ministries that will be sharing with us during the sermon.  And, I believe that you will find this time both challenging and inspiring as we look at the tangible difference we can make, individually and corporately.

I look forward to seeing you at either our 9 am or 10:30 am service!

Blessings,

Bob

“Then he said to his disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into the fields’” Matt 9:37-38

This week, I’m excited to be diving into a topic very near and dear to my own heart- the needs surrounding us in our very own community! I have seen firsthand how “ripe the fields” are of people in our own community who are hungry to know about the hope that we have in Christ! I pray this week that God readies your heart to respond!

RESTORE

Sunday 12/1/19 6p

The first Sunday of each month, at 6 pm, we host our monthly healing service called Restore in our church sanctuary. Please help us get the word out to friends and family – even strangers, those who you feel might be in need of this vital ministry!

It has been my overwhelming experience that healing is not about praying the right words, or finding the right person to lay hands on us, but rather about persistence in prayer. Time-and-time-again I have seen God work miracles as His people persist in prayer, petitioning Him to unleash His divine power against evil, injustice and the broken things of this life!

Won’t you come join us as we persist together as a family, as a body of believers, who are convinced that God is able!

I’m confident that this will quite possibly be the most significant and powerful hour that you will engage in all week long!

MISSIONS MEETING | SUNDAY DURING 1st SERVICE
