Hi Friends,

This week, we will be studying Luke 14:25-35 where Jesus offers some challenging words on what it means to be a disciple. We will be looking at the fact that God was meant to be our primary relationship above all else.

I look forward to diving into this challenging passage with you and I hope that you’ll make plans to join us at either our 9 am or 10:30 am service!

I look forward to seeing you,

Bob

When asked, “What is the greatest command?” Jesus responds: “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ (Matt 22:37) It sounds so simple, and yet living this out in the truest sense is the most challenging thing we can do! I encourage you to meditate on this verse this week and consider what it looks like to truly love the lord your God with ALL your heart, soul and mind!

Truth. What is it? Who has it? How can we be sure? These are the questions of our day. Everyone claims to have truth, but that simply can’t be true. Join us for a 3 week discussion series as we talk through worldviews such as Atheism, Mormonism, and Cults.

This Tuesday, November 5, former atheist and lawyer John Noyes shares his story and experiences, while walking us through what a worldview like atheism really exposes. John is a wonderful communicator and his experiences are ones you do not want to miss!

turkeyBe Thankful!

This time of year we are remembering to be thankful. One very practical way to do this is to be generous with what we have been given.  The Food Pantry wants to invite you to give a frozen turkey or a $40 donation to help our neighbors celebrate.

Parenting can be overwhelming!

Teenagers need a space to grow and connect.

PARENTS need a space to grow and connect.

Empower provides a space for parents to connect, process, and get support while their middle school student has a space to connect and grow deeper with God.

We are currently going through Tony Evans: Raising Kingdom Kids. Our next series will be Effective Parenting in a Defective World with Chip Ingram.

Visit cbcventura.org/empower for a schedule of topics.

Next Empower is November 6 – Raising Royal Kids
