Meet the Staff of CBCVentura
Bob grew up in Santa Barbara, CA. Between his home church, Trinity Baptist, nurturing Christian parents, and the ministry of Hume Lake Christian Camps, Bob’s passion for the Lord and Christian service ignited. At age 12 he dedicated his life to full time ministry at a Keith Green concert in Santa Rosa, CA. Bob received his BA in Religious Studies from Westmont College in 1987, and his Master of Divinity (with an emphasis in Christian Formation & Discipleship) from Fuller Seminary in 1990. Bob has served churches in Pasadena, Walnut Creek & Ventura since 1987. He and his wonderful wife Denise have been married since August 1987, and they have three beautiful daughters: Amanda, Aubrey & Samantha. In January of 2008, they answered God’s call to come to CBC as the church’s first full time senior pastor.
Amanda Lawrence is the Office Manager at Community Bible Church. She was part of a group of founding families that started CBC in 2001, when it began as just a small group Bible study. From the time that CBC became a formal, traditional church, she has served as the church secretary and administrative assistant to the senior pastor. She is active in the leadership of the Missions Team, Women’s Ministry, Food Pantry and a number of small group Bible studies. Amanda has been married to her husband Ren since 1986, and they have four grown children.
Student Ministries Pastor
Josiah has a heart and passion to see students and families develop deep and lasting relationships with the Lord and with each other. Growing up in the church as a PK (pastor’s kid), he fell in love with ministry and helping students find Jesus through community and discipleship. A proud graduate of Azusa Pacific University, he and his bride Rachel have been married for 6 years, have an amazing two-year-old son, Ezekiel, as well as another baby on the way! His favorite places in the world include Hume Lake, Dodger Stadium, and San Luis Obispo.

She keeps our website & app updated, helps with the powerpoint/media team for Sundays, and helps with various computer and media around the office and in the church. She gave her life to the Lord in March 2000 and hasn’t looked back. She has been married since January 1991 to Scott, a computer software developer, and they have 3 sons: Kevin, Josh, & Noah.
Britney is a Ventura native with a passion for God, ministry and music! Her passion for music began in church choir at age four where she sang her first solo and eventually led her to write, record and release her first album by age 16. She began leading worship in 2010 on the tail end of a five-year touring campaign and has since served as a worship director or leader for several churches in Ventura County. Her biggest passion is using music to reach those who are without hope and teach them about the amazing hope found in a perfect and loving father. She has served as a missionary overseas in Eastern Europe reaching women enslaved to human trafficking and currently mentors young girls in Ventura County who have been victims of human trafficking. She has been married to her best friend, Jonny Miller, since 2013. They just had their first, incredible son in September of 2017. Britney feels completely blessed to serve as the Worship Director at CBC while being a mom and continuing ministry in the community!
