Prepared
This week our teaching text will be Jeremiah 1:1-19, and we’ll be talking about what it means that God has PREPARED us for His service!
Have you ever thought of yourself as a prophet? Probably not, but as God’s followers we all have the responsibility and privilege of proclaiming the Gospel message!
Biblical prophets didn’t just predict future events, they also proclaimed God’s Word to people. And, that is exactly the charge that Jesus entrusted to us before He left this earth,
“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey all that I commanded you. And lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age !” Matthew 28:19-20
I love what St. Francis of Assisi said about the Great Commission. He added, “Go everywhere preaching… And, if necessary, use words !”
This Sunday we’ll be looking at the fact that God’s Knowing us involves our Preparation for ministry.
